Parent Show Shirts & Cici’s Benefit night

Hi Ram Band Family!
Just a reminder that tonight is the benefit night for the Ram Band at Cici’s Pizza on Bandera Rd. from 5PM – 9PM.

A portion of all proceeds will be donated to the Band Boosters to help with costs of music, props, instructors, instruments, and much more. Check out our facebook, twitter or instagram @jmramband for more info!

Also, today is the last day to order show shirts. These are the “Long live the Queen” tour date shirts that the kids have.  I have attached an order form and will be at Cici’s from 5:30 – 9PM to take orders. You can order online through Charms at:

Booster Chaperone Shirts!

Greetings Ram Band Family,

Just a reminder that the last day to order the 2018-2019 Booster Shirt will be tomorrow, Aug. 14th.  I will be collecting order forms (click her for the order form: Band Booster Shirt Order Form 18-19) and money tomorrow evening at the Booster meeting.  I will also have hard copies of the order form on hand.

It is important to note that the new Booster shirt will be part of the required “uniform” to chaperone events.  Being in uniform helps our students to know who is chaperoning and who they can look to for assistance. Please understand we are not trying to make you buy one more shirt…. I definitely have my share of Band Gear, this is just so that we stand out to our students. If you are not planning on chaperoning this year then wearing your older booster shirts to support will be fine.

Also, as a reminder, all the events in which we will be needing parent chaperones are listed in Charms.  From the event calendar you can click on the “hand” or “turkey”, as Mr. Tabb calls it, and you can sign up for the event you are available to chaperone. If you need help logging in to Charms we will be set up with laptops tomorrow evening at the Booster Meeting to help with that.

Final Week of Band Camp!


We have reached the final week of summer band camp. Yeah! Please read over the schedule carefully (click here: JMHS Weekly Schedule 8-13- 8-17) because it is going to be a busy week. Please make every effort to make our first band booster meeting this Tuesday, August 14th at 7:00 pm in the band hall. As part of our upcoming mattress fundraiser, the company we are working with is donating $5 to the Marshall band boosters for every parent in attendance. This is an easy opportunity to support our program by sharing a few minutes of your time. I look forward to seeing you on Tuesday and Go Rams!

Chaperoning for 8/25/18

Greetings Ram Band Family,

I am excited to have the opportunity to serve as Vice President of Chaperones. If you are looking to get involved with the Ram Band, chaperoning is a great start!!! Our first event is coming up on Aug. 25th. This will be our Ram Band Debut. It is a great example of what to expect when traveling and performing on the football field.

If you would like to chaperone this event, please log on to Charms and click on the “hand” on the Calendar for Aug. 25th. If all the slots fill up, no worries, just contact me and I will add you.

While chaperoning we do wear a “uniform” of the booster shirt, black bottoms and tennis shoes. Many of you already ordered the shirt at registration. The deadline to order a shirt will be on Aug. 14 (our 1st Booster meeting of the year).  CLICK THIS LINK  for an order form for our Booster Shirt.

Silent Auction Items


A Silent Auction is held at the Spring Concert each year. In the past, each major section of the band has been assigned a theme and then each member of the section is encouraged to donate items for baskets.  Each member of the section is asked to bring 1 – 2 items for their section basket.
This year, instead of assigning a theme, the student leadership team (drum majors, officers, and section leaders) selected the themes for their section.  Here they are with examples of things each student can bring. You aren’t limited to these examples. You can be as creative as you want with your items.
  • Percussion: Breakfast Basket (ex: muffins, juice, pop tarts, etc.)
  • Saxophones: Summer Basket (ex: sun block, pool toys, Mens/Womens flip flops)
  • Trumpets/Mellows: Bath & Body Works Basket (ex: lotions, soaps, etc.)
  • Flutes: Spa Basket (ex: eye masks, bubble bath, lotion, face masks, etc.)
  • Clarinets: Movie Night Basket (gift certificates to the movies, pop corn, pop corn containers, movie posters, t-shirts,  etc.)
  • Low Brass: Spurs & Cowboys Basket (EX: posters, fan gear, t-shirts, cups, koozies, etc)
  • Color Guard: Health Basket (ex: exercise video, yoga mat, gel insoles, mini pedometer, etc.)
There will be additional baskets that have been donated at the Spring concert.  Anyone who would like to donate a complete basket is welcome to.
Please bring items in by MONDAY, May 22nd.  I will be collecting them after school and will begin assembling baskets on Monday Night (the 22nd) & Tuesday, May 23rd.  The section whose basket brings in the most money will get a small prize at the banquet!
