Hello Ram Community!
We have some great news to report. We were able to purchase a trailer and are now working on closing out the campaign to support the full vehicle wrap and interior renovations. Of the $30,000 needed to buy, renovate, and wrap the trailer, we are still approximately $5,000 short of our goal. Any funds raised over the $30,000 will go towards the maintenance of the trailer (such as tires, repairs in the future, or yearly registration).
You can still donate to the campaign by going to the donasity trailer campaign: https://www.donasity.com/fundraiser/TVRJd01BPT0=/Band-Trailer-Project
Special thanks to our Marshall and Ram Band Alumni who have led the giving. Thank you to all of our Ram Community for making this possible.

The John Marshall High School Ram Band & Color Guard, one of Northside Independent School District’s (NISD) longest running and most recognized high school music programs, is seeking contributions from alumni, parents and the business community in support of the Ram Band Trailer Project. This project will allow for the purchase of a full sized trailer that will be customized and used to transport the large band instruments used in high quality band programs. Although funding for the trailer, customization, wrap, maintenance and driver must to be raised, NISD will support the ongoing cab rental needed to move the trailer throughout the year.
Having a customized, branded trailer will: 1) save money; 2) save time; 3) reduce the number of drivers needed; and 4) protect valuable instruments. In addition, it will serve as a point of pride for John Marshall High School. As the oldest school in NISD, Marshall has struggled with enrollment due to redistricting as newer schools have opened (Marshall is now the smallest high school in NISD at 2,602 students). Marshall has also struggled with changing demographics as families continue to move to newer housing developments outside of 1604 (46% of JMHS families qualifying for free and reduced lunch. That is 1 in every 2.2 students). That being said, Marshall remains one of the top performing schools in NISD. For example, in 2016, Marshall had the third highest number of TEA recognized distinctions of all the NISD high schools.
For over fifty years, the students in this program have represented the community, the alumni and the school in marching and concert competitions and performances across the city and throughout Texas. Many of this year’s band and guard members are second/third generation students whose families were part of the same band program over the past 50 years. The Ram Band is making high marks this season and the energy and momentum is strong. We will be participating in the Battle of the Bands and the Battle of the Flowers Parade in the spring and having the trailer in place for those events is the goal.
The Band Booster raises funds throughout the year to assist in purchasing new instruments, supporting unique performance opportunities, and purchasing show props and uniforms, but this is a one-time appeal to fund The Ram Band Trailer Project. As you can see from the attached flyer, we welcome the opportunity to publically recognize donations of $1,000 or more with branding opportunities.
We hope you will help us reach our $30,000 goal! The JMHS Band Booster Organization is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization so your donations are fully tax deductible.
